• Who can join cheer and what are the age ranges for the team?

    All are welcome! Any boy or girl may join the cheer program! Cheer is for grades 2-8 so each team will be a mix of ranges. Depending on the number of registrations there may be 1-3 teams. 

  • Can I join if I have no experience?

    Absolutely! Cheer is all about learning and having fun - no experience required!

  • When does cheer start?

    The cheer season start date will be announced closer to the middle of August, final date to be determined. The season will run in parallel with the start of football until the end of the season which may very depending on play off standings. The typical duration is August through the end of November. 

  • How much does cheer cost?

    The cost for the 2026 season is $225, however there are discounts available, such as early bird pricing or sibling discounts. 

  • How many practices will there be in a week?

    For the 2026 season, there will likely be 2-3 practices per week during the evening hours. Each practice will be about 2 hours or less. Practice location and time will be determined prior to the season. 

  • What is the commitment for cheer?

    The commitment for cheer is to attend all practices as scheduled and attend all games as scheduled by your coach. The cheer team will typically cheer for one division (youth, juniors, seniors) each weekend. 

  • Are there travel requirements?

    There will not be additional competition events for the cheer team in 2026. Cheer travel will be limited to Exeter Seahawks home football games with the potential for travel to away games. The cheer schedule will be coordinated prior to the season starting. 

  • Do we have to pay for the uniform?

    There is a $200 uniform deposit fee that will be returned at the end of the season if all of the uniform is returned. Exeter Seahawks will collect a deposit check which will be held until the end of the season and the uniform is returned in good standing. 

  • What items for the uniform are provided?

    The uniform provided is a top (similar to a tank top), a cheer skirt, and a set of pompoms. 

  • What additional non provided uniform items are required?

    White sneakers and short fitted bike shorts (coaches will advise about color of shorts and will provide recommendation links). 

  • Do parents have to volunteer?

    Yes! Similar to the football program, there is a requirement to volunteer during the season. Each family will need to volunteer one time during the season for each of their athletes. Volunteer opportunities are available at all home games, in addition to away game support. As stated in the registration form if you do not fulfill the volunteer requirements the uniform deposit will be forfeited. Please note for AreUIn members, volunteering and equipment deposit is still required.  

  • My schedule does not allow me to volunteer for games?

    Please note, we understand all families have various commitments. We are happy to provide an Opt Out Fee option during registration if you are unable or volunteer. Alternatively, please reach out to the Seahawks board for additional non-game volunteering opportunities.
