The Exeter Seahawks REQUIRE players entering grades 6th through 8th in the Fall 2024 season to take the ImPACT Baseline Concussion test. Although the results are valid for two years, we ask eligible players to test annually.
Baseline testing can be used as part of the medical consultation process if a player has a suspected concussion. The Seahawks will provide ALL 6th, 7th and 8th grade players registering for the 2024 season with access to the ImPACT baseline testing online at no cost to their family. As a parent or guardian for a player entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall, you will agree to have your player take the ImPACT baseline test online at your own convenience prior to receiving any football equipment at fit-ups.
CORE Orthopaedics has generously provided us with the online access to ImPACT Baseline Concussion testing. The ‘test’ should be taken in a quiet area where the player can focus on the questions or images that it will be asking about. The test should take about 20 minutes to complete and there is no “Pass” or “Fail” to the results. It is instead a ground zero on memory skills and processing speeds to compare to as part of a possible concussion evaluation in the future. After your player has completed the test, you will receive an ID/Key #. Please send the player’s name and this ID number to exeterseahawksinfo@gmail.com for our records! In the event that a medical specialist will need to be consulted in the next two years regarding a possible concussion (due to any event, sports related or not!) you will need this Id# in order for the medical staff to to access the Baseline for a specific player.
